Joel Scrivner Joel Scrivner is a charismatic and lively young man who is moving at a fast pace to reach today’s young people. Joel has an exciting message and is extremely passionate about reaching out and guiding others. He has been speaking publicly since 1990 and has been involved with both the public and private school systems, churches of all types and civic groups such as the Elks Club and both the Girl and Boy Scouts of America. Joel has an uncanny knack for building rapport with people young and old and is captivating to watch. His mixture of entertaining anecdotes, inspirational life messages and exciting martial arts demonstrations is both motivating and empowering. Joel has been studying and training in the martial arts for 16 years and currently holds a 4th degree black belt in TaeKwon-do and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiujit-su. Joel has won many titles in the martial arts arena. He is a 6 time USTF TaeKwon-do National Champion and a 4 time GTF World Champion. Joel was also a member of the US TaeKwon-do team from 1993-1997 and competed in many international events. Vocationally, Joel managed martial arts schools for almost 10 years. He taught literally hundreds of students, of whom many have become not only black belts and instructors, but National and World Champions as well. As of the summer of 2000 Joel left the martial arts industry and is focusing his energy on being a youth pastor to Legendary Youth Culture, a ministry involving over 500 young people weekly. As a full time youth pastor at Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas, Joel has found fulfillment in helping young people to find themselves, and their destiny while overcoming the obstacles that lie before them in life. Joel has also had great success with helping parents and youth to come to a greater level of communication and understanding. Joel’s positive attitude and indomitable spirit are contagious and he is an asset to any program whether it is a small group setting or a full-scale assembly. Joel and his wife Jennifer reside in Carrollton with their daughter Sydney O’Neal.
